Donation to Ċentru Tbexbix

Lindsay Mann came out of retirement to present a cheque €1,650 to Katherine Azzopardi of Ċentru Tbexbix. Also participating in the presentation were Kim Smith, Anne Henders, and Marianne Gable. Ċentru Tbexbix (The Sunshine Center), located in a lovingly restored building in Bormla, provides educational and social support programs for children, families, and seniors with an aim to promote creativity and holistic wellbeing across generations. During our visit, several small groups of children of all ages were participating in creative, educational, and physical activities led by a team of young volunteers. Katherine, a former teacher, and her husband, an architect, described the extensive amount of work required of volunteers to restore the old building that was being used as a rubbish dump to its current bright and cheerful facility. Our donation continues a tradition of AIWM’s support of Ċentru Tbexbix and will be used to fund the lunch portion of this year’s Summer Club.
