A Career in Ballet - Daphne Lungaro-Mifsud

We were delighted that one of our members, Daphne Palmer Morewood, was able to present our May lecture about her career in ballet, in London and Malta. Known professionally as Daphne Lungaro-Mifsud, Daphne came from the Poutiatine school of dance and is one of Malta’s pioneering ballerinas.

After a brief period of study with Poutiatine, Daphne was offered a seven-year scholarship at the school of Irene Grandison Clark in London. As part of her studies, she performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Palace Theatre and at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Daphne started teaching in 1965 in Malta and ran a successful school, The Ballet Studio for many years. Despite her successful career, her greatest success and joy is the beautiful family she raised.
